15-Day Industry Oriented Summer School

The Free Software Movement (AP) is organizing a 15-day Industry Oriented summer school, a training camp where a student can learn not just the various technologies used in the Industry but can also understand the various dynamics of the IT Industry.

Technology Sessions: The programme includes detailed sessions on variety of topics ranging from 'setting up a GNU/Linux Operating system' to 'Professional Programming' to 'Server Administration'. Apart from these, there will also be “Hands-on” sessions in laboratories for the technologies where the student can get a practical understanding of using the technology. These practical sessions will be well-facilitated.

You can now edit Telugu text along with English and apply all the text formats that can be done with English text to Telugu text too.

OpenOffice Calc You can have your spreadsheets in Telugu. Cells, Sheets, Menus, Option windows are in Telugu

OpenOffice Impress Create and edit presentations for slide shows

Swecha LiveCD - June 2006 is available for download

Swecha LiveCD is a Telugu localised operating system that runs entirely from a CDROM. It does not require any installation on the hard disk. Common tasks such as writing and printing documents, browsing the web, sending/receiving emails, chatting, editing graphics etc. can all be in Telugu from the LiveCD. Optionally, you can install the operating system onto the hard disk.
