Andhra Pradesh saw the most devastating floods in the recent times. Three districts have been worst affected. The plight of the people is unimaginable. People active in swecha have decided to raise basic eminities like food grains, cereals and clothes for the victims of the flood. Activists from students, academicians and industry went on collecting aid from the free software sympathisers and people acquainted with the free software movement.

We raised 5 tonnes of food grains and saree, dhoti and towels which were distributed in the affected areas in Kurnool. Even 10 days after the flood has receded there is marsh on the roads of one feet thickness and the entire drainage system jammed with silt and marsh. The work done has been very limited and we could cater to the needs of 450 families (one hamlet). We appeal to one and all who would like to further help the victims to make their donations at our office or any swecha activist.

We thank all of those who were kind enough in generously donating the material/money in helping out the victims. These are some of snapshots taken during the flood relief operations.
